OWNER REMARKS AND HISTORY: TIVA was acquired by her current owner in 1969, after just 3 years in the possession of the commissioning owner. She began her life by spending 18 years in the fresh water of Lake Michigan. Her cruising time in the Great Lakes was spent along the west coast of Michigan, with regular cruises “up north” to Mackinac Island and into the North Channel of Ontario, Canada.
Her last 34 years have been spent in the fresh water of the California Delta, cruising and leading cruises in the Delta and San Francisco Bay with various boating/yacht clubs. Not a year has gone by that TIVA hasn’t enjoyed some “Down Bay” time, including a few trips out the Golden Gate and down to Monterey Bay. Most recently, October 2018, she had the good fortune of seeing no less than 30 humpback whales on an early morning cruise from Santa Cruz to Monterey.
